SPRING 2018 - HOW TO SETUP YOUR PULSE SECURE CONNECTION VPN IS NOT REQUIRED to access resources from the My Pitt Portal. Most employees on campus do not actually need VPN to work from home. Many software titles are available for free for home use or at low cost. Personal files can be stored in the Cloud and many departmental shares can be migrated to the cloud. Pitt Virtual Private Network (VPN) Pitt Software Services; The Study Lab On Demand, offered by the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, provides online modules to help you succeed in a new learning environment. PittNet VPN can also be used to create SSL-based VPN connections to access information sources that reside behind University firewalls. The service includes a security check or "health check" to help ensure that remote computers accessing University machines do not pass on viruses, worms, and other security threats. A PittNet VPN role (sometimes referred to as a "Network Connect" role) is a special set of permissions that grant you access to specific network resources.
